[ToS] [SM-Stage] The Evil Controlling Orders Soulmaster 0 Diam Clear

SM Stage: The Evil Controlling Orders (Normal)
Card Reward: Diablo, Manipulator of Elements
Date: 2nd May 2014
Pre-req: None

It’s been a long time since I did this kind of mini-guide.. and it’s probably cos I’ve been skipping quite alot of them, resulting in my lack of powerful cards and thus my inability to clear many new SM stages with ease D: However, old stages like this are still really easy to handle. I am aware that a previous guide for Diablo exists, and this is simply to provide an updated team I used.

My Diablo from the previous SM stage. As with Seal Bosses, they return every few months!
My Diablo from the previous SM stage (2 cycles ago ._.) from a while ago. Yea, the name has now been changed.

No special requirements to enter the stage. Just prepare the 50 stamina required and in you go 🙂

The stage information can be found here: English ToS Wiki and Chinese ToS Wiki

The stage cannot be done by Greek teams due to stage 2. There are free skill CD -> 0 boosts on stages 1 and 3, so it strongly suggests the use of high burst teams. This SM bans Heart runes, so no healing can be done by combat means and if you bring offensive converters, they will NOT be able to work unless you first convert other runes to Heart runes beforehand. Since you can activate actives on turn 1, and there is an absence of healing anyways, Cassandra is a very powerful member to have for this stage, since all her disadvantages are negated.

There are 2 essential roles in this team: Shooter and some kind of skill to deal with Isabel. The shooter will kill off the egg in stage 2 so that you will not receive the explosion damage. For Isabel, you can either reduce her damage dealt so that you can survive, have enough HP to tank it (not for this team) or use an Isabel to deal with Isabel 😛

Stage 1: 3-4 turns for you to kill both. Just look at their CD timers and plan who to kill first. REMEMBER to activate Cassandra the moment you enter please. And try not to perform full attacks, since enchanted runes will cause you to deal no damage the next stage.

Stage 2: First of all, use your shooter to kill the egg. I hope you took more than 1 turn to clear stage 1, cos you need turn 2 charge of this shooter to deal enough damage to kill the egg. Use all the skills you have to kill the Yvette, since you will get them all back next stage. HOWEVER, DO NOT DISSOLVE ENCHANTED RUNES. Daji or Endor should do the job, but I feel Daji is safer in controlling enchanted runes skyfall disaster.

Stage 3: Try to kill without actives in 2 turns. It is very possible with some luck with skyfalls.

Stage 4: Try to kill the egg to stop the poison while stalling Dark runes. It’s not deadly to take hits here since you shouldn’t be taking much more after this. Then, use your Isabel’s active at CD1 of enemy Isabel and let her perform an attack. Now, you have 3 turns to kill her, which is really easy without actives 🙂

Stage 5: This is a new stage. Basically a 6 HP thing to kill. So do it.

Stage 6: Target the egg first, and try to kill both without actives. The pre-evolved form of Marg has only 600k+ HP, which you should be able to finish off in a turn or 2. After she evolves, Hp will be at 1.2m+ HP, but being Light-based, this team will be able to kill her in 2 turns quite easily as well. I brought in an Endor just in case, but you might wna save it.

Stage 6: Final boss Diablo. Once you reach this stage with Daji active up it should be an easy 1-turn kill unless you do not have a set of 3 runes for every color. If you are unlucky, Endor is here to help by extending 3 rows to reach for that 1 more rune to satisfy this annoying shield. But if you do use Endor, bear in mind you will not have access to your craft. Anyways, congratulations easy :3

In all, this stage is fairly easy and perfectly farmable.

[ToS] [SM-Stage] Reign of the Star 0 Diamond Clear :3 Big Bang SM!!!

SM Stage: Reign of the Star
Card Reward: Regulator – Deus Ex Machina
Date: 29th Nov 2014
Pre-req: None

Before the Big Bang members return, here comes Regulator. Flashy name and flashy card design, but equipped with once of the most basic yet useful skills in ToS, rune converting.

I seriously do not know how this guy is related to Big Bang..

Several new mechanisms litter the stage, and I was initially skeptical about whether I could clear it. That is also the reason why I did not manage to capture a video for this SM… since I did not expect to clear it on my first try with such a normal Norse team ._. This is the team that I used:

Standard Norse.
Standard Norse.

2 bursts, a good Heart converter, a good Dark converter and mega converting power from Odin/Loki when needed. This shows how simple the SM actually is.

The Reign of the Star Battle!

Stamina required: 50
No. of stages: 6

Stage 1: DO NOT read the skill description wrongly! The icon looks like Trojan but it’s the one that increases attack intensity every turn. So you should definitely be killing it off asa. However, I would suggest stalling at least 2-3 turns here for you converting actives to charge up partially. For a Norse, this boss should not be a problem if you are not too starved of runes.

Stage 2: The first 2-part boss amongst many in this battle. For the first part, simply dissolve 3 runes per turn to deal 6 damage. You will be able to kill him after your 5th turn. The damage he deals is simple to heal up too. The 2nd part hits harder and limits rune spinning to 2s. You will probably need to activate Endor for this 😐

Stage 3: New mechanism: frozen runes. Every turn, 2 runes will be half-frozen at random. If they are dissolved that turn, they will be frozen and cannot be dissolved for 3 turns. They can be moved… so make full use of it to clear them each turn. As long as you clear them regularly, this stage is not too difficult ^^

Stage 4: 2-part boss. For the first part, 11k damage per turn is the main problem. Use you Heart converter sparingly and remember to deal damage to him every turn! If you are super afraid of him, bring along a healer, damage reduction or freeze/charm. As for the 2nd part, burst him down.

Stage 5: His ability affects only Dragons in your team. So for me, the boss is fine other than his 8k damage per turn and super high HP. But thats what Norse teams are good for, so juggle the use of your converters + Endor and you should be fine.

Stage 6: New mechanism 2: 2 spots on the board will be locked at random. If spinning reaches them, your spinning will stop. From my observation, the spots do not change after turns. For me, I used Odin/Loki and Daji to arrange runes manually. However, you will have to plan beforehand to make sure you do not touch those fixed spots, so if the fixed spot is Red, bring your Red runes up there to dissolve it, and at the same time stager the Dark runes 🙂

Congrats on obtaining this interesting card! This stage is pretty doable, so don’t be afraid. If you lack a good Dark converter (which you should not be, given the ease of obtaining and maxing a Baphomet), you will want to get this guy. As for a Big Bang team with this Regulator as leader, I do not recommend rainbow full Big Bang since their actives work horribly together. A mono Dark with Regulator and GD would be fine though, as it works similar to Norse but with less raw stats, more flexible small converters and 1 or 2 more spots for flavour cards.

Hope everyone has fun hunting this guy down!

[ToS] [News] Patch 7.3 Changes and Big Bang SM Stage Preview Article Translations and Information :3

This will mainly be a translation post regarding the 7.3 patch that was released on 24th Nov (Monday) and the upcoming Big Bang SM stage on 29th Nov (Sat) for Tower of Saviors.

Note:
– All information about new features or cards and abilities are extracted from the news articles online. My input will only be deductions or guesses built upon those information.
– As with all translations, info may be lost or changed to a certain extent. This is mainly due to the fact that for the majority of the info, only a 1-sentence description has been provided in the article without video evidence of how detailed mechanics work. Thus, certain deductions have to be made on vague descriptions.
– The main article or source will be linked at the bottom of the post.
– Sources which were written in English and do not need to be translated will only be linked.

BIG BANG SM Stage!

Even before the Big Band members return, this new SM stage will arrive on 29th Nov 2014, featuring a new Dark converter card that boosts the power of Big Bang PR cards.

Leader ability: Human Attack 200%.

Active ability: Dark version of Pisces/Domon, converting any rune (Hearts get converted away first) into Dark based on the number of turns since it’s last used.

A team bonus of 2x Attack for this SM leader and 7* Big Bang PR members!
A team bonus of 2x Attack for this SM leader and 7* Big Bang PR members!

So… you might immediately ask why the leader and GD in one of the previous screenshots did not have a x2 Attack. It’s cos that GD is 6*, not the PRed one. If you want to have a look at the real deal, scroll down and watch the video ^^

Fixed Cyborg Scholars Issues…

Now, if a merged Cyborg Scholar performs an attack, it will perform an additional one (~10% damage) after the first. This is probably to negate massive handicaps for teams who use merging cards when facing opponents that receive 1 damage per hit.

Not exactly 10% here, cos of monster armor.
Not exactly 10% here, cos of monster armor.

If you use a merged Cyborg Scholar as leader, the leader ability requires only 1 more of the other race (instead of the usual 2) for the multiplier to be triggered. If your ally is also a Cyborg Scholar, leader ability also changes. In short, you just need to bring along the transforming ingredient, along with another one of the OTHER race (the ones stated in the ability, other than Human) to enjoy the multiplier!

The Official Video

This video demonstrates the new SM boss as leader, while having 7* GD as an additional converter, and to trigger that x2 Big Bang Attack multiplier.

IMO, it is essential to trigger this additional team multiplier, since the leader ability’s 200% Human Attack multiplier is honestly not very strong. In this case, 2 members will have 400% (before PKoE multiplier), and if you build a rainbow Big Bang team, it could very well work out well! However, all Big Bang members are converters for their own class, so their actives do not synergize well with one another. Given that the SM boss is a Dark converter, I would recommend fitting him into a Dark mono or Dark focused team like the one in the video. Why the producer brought PKoE is puzzling, since the PRed leader ability is still not attractive, but it could either be to publicize him, or that the stage involved requires more than 1 armor-ignoring ability (Midgley provides one already). If not, a Daji works as an ally, since she’s Dark (although she does not receive the 200% Human bonus, it doesn’t matter. Other color Norses have been using her to great success anyways.

Another point to note would be the restriction of using as many Humans as possible… There really aren’t many Dark Humans to begin with, and most of what is useful are shown in the video. Cassandra is a likely candidate but adds too much risk and difficulty. If built well, I would estimate this team’s burst potential to be around that of Dark Norse, but with somewhat weaker converters. If you have difficulty getting a Loki, definitely try to get your hands on this boss!
