And here comes the promised part 2 of the FF14 screenshots post. Due to time constraints, the Lilith Rod was not presented in the previous post. Back then, I did not know what a feat it was to obtain that rod. But now that I have FINALLY completed my relic Novus, and am moving forward to the Nexus questline… Well, it’s not the first time SE has made people grind, and it’s not the first time I grind, but everytime I am faced with yet another major farm/grind task, I feel sad.
The Road to Novus
So the road to Novus… it’s been more than half a year for me, mainly because I left the game after just uprading my shield to Novus. Alexandrites are a pain to collect. Back then, and even just a week ago, the best sane way to amass 75 of them would be 1 per day via expert roulette. Basically a countdown to the number of days left to Novus, or number of days left till you quit the game. But SE made it quite alot easier just this patch. For example, by hunting non-stop from yesterday till a few hours ago, I farmed like 3k Allied Seals and along with it, about 2k Soldiery, which equates to more than 20 Alexandrites in such a short time!! It’s no easy task, since you have to constantly be on the lookout for Hunt spottings in chat and rush over IMMEDIATELY. K let’s not talk about this horrible process, but here it is, my shiny :DDD
Note: A rank hunts now give 40 Seals and 30 Sol. S ranks give 100 Seals and 100 Sol!! Weekly B rank gives 100 Seals too so don’t forget them. The main reason why this is now the main way to obtain Alexandrites is that EVERYONE hunts now (for unstained logs), so hunt parties are up constantly and people are working hard finiding the spawns.
Patch of Darkness
And talking about new patch, we have a couple of awesome new features added to the game. Say hi to World of Darkness.
The Keeper of the Lake
So this is the new 4-man dungeon. You are required to unlock it and complete it, along with WP HM and AK HM to resume your expert roulettes :3
K this boss is fine by itself, but the 2 flying things above will constantly drop bombs onto the field. These bombs explode after a while and should be pushed to the sides of the field (similar to Bray HM last boss bombs). The boss will periodically suck everything, including bombs and you, to himself and you have to RUN as fast as possible away from the boss. Hence, tank should keep the boss at the sides of the field, so that when he sucks the bombs, the bombs will all be near one edge, and your mates can run to the clear side of the field.
The last boss is actually a 3 part boss fight. There is this demon-wall thing (like Cloud of Darkness) but he’s simply fixed onto that side of the wall and keeps using aoe skills. After a while he summons one of the sleeping dragons to battle and tank should immediately start putting all attention onto it. You can ignore managing aggro of the wall boss since he’s just using the same aoe skills throughout. The dragons become the boss and they take a long time to defeat. After you defeat both, the wall boss will be left with a tiny bit of HP and you can kill him off quickly.
That’s All FER NAO~~
So… I’m tired and I’m gna go sleep. But I still have peektures of “Brushy the Fisherman” and other exciting stuff unrevealed D: Let’s leave that for next time. Finally, let’s enjoy some bonus and teasers ❤
